From what I understand, the cover page is determined automatically by comparing the content of your document's "Title" field with any occurrence of text in larger types inside your document. Its success rate depends very much on the document's typography; it works very well with traditional old books, less so with recent magazines (because of the complex layout).

Anyway, when the wrong thumbnail is generated, the way to fix this is to edit the file ending with "_scandata.xml". Download it, open it in a text editor such as Notepad, find the page set to "Title", change it to "Normal" and change the cover page to "Title". Bear in mind that the page numbering starts at 0! Save your file. Now delete the original "_scandata.xml" on archive.org and upload the new version, click "Update Item" and you're done. If you don't see any difference, that's probably because you need to force your browser to refresh.

Thank you very much for answering my question. I totally understand what you are saying when I look at the XML file.

Well, only my problem is how can I change the "_scandata.xml". I can see it, I can download and edit it but where in the system I could delete and upload the edited XLM? I can not find it..

To edit your document, you have to click on the (small and pale gray) "Edit" link to the left-hand side of your document's title, right under the yellow book icon. Then you click on "change the files" and you'll get an interface which allows you to delete and upload files.

That's strange. It usually takes a minute or two at the most. Write to info@archive.org and don't forget to include the link to your document -- I'm sure they will be able to find the problem.
